Questions donors ask

If something here is still unclear, WhatsApp us and a trustee will answer.

Is my donation eligible for tax benefit?

Yes. Alorah Foundation holds 80G registration number AAMTA4503GF20261, so donations are eligible for deduction under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act. Your receipt carries the registration numbers your accountant will ask for, and we also file Form 10BD, which is what puts the donation into your own tax records.

How do I get my 80G receipt?

Give your details on the donate form. When you pay online the receipt follows straight away. If you pay by bank transfer or UPI, we match the payment against our bank statement first, then issue the receipt with your Donor ID and Donation ID. Add your name in the transfer remarks and it reaches you faster.

Does any part of my donation go in fees?

No charge is added to your donation. You are receipted for the full amount you gave. Where a payment gateway charges us a fee for collecting online, the trust pays it out of its own funds rather than taking it out of your gift.

Can I donate from outside India?

Not at present. Alorah Foundation accepts donations from Indian citizens and Indian entities only. Contributions from foreign sources, including NRI accounts held abroad, can be accepted only after FCRA registration. We will say so on this page the day that changes.

Can I give to one particular need?

Yes. The donate form has a Purpose list carrying every open need by name. Choose the one you want and your gift is booked against it, which is how the Raised figure on that need moves.

How do I know the trust is genuine?

Every registration we hold is printed on this site: trust registration 4/82/2026, PAN AAMTA4503G, NGO Darpan ID TN/2026/0442383, 80G AAMTA4503GF20261 and 12AB AAMTA4503GE20261. Certificate copies are sent on request. Our filings and audited accounts are published in the Transparency section each year.

Will my name be published anywhere?

Only in masked form, for example R****h K. The donor wall on this site never carries a full name, a phone number, an address or an amount you did not give. Full records are kept internally and shared with the authorities where the law requires it, and nowhere else.

How are the people you help chosen?

Anyone can apply through the Apply for assistance page, and we do not ask for a government income certificate. A trustee visits the family before help is given. For medical, education and similar help we pay the hospital or the institution directly against its own bill, rather than handing over cash.

Do you publish your accounts?

Yes. Each financial year we publish the income-tax filing, the audited profit and loss statement and the balance sheet in the Transparency section of this page, next to the registrations. What we ask the public to trust, the public can check.

Still unclear?
