For Schools

About this session

A gentle, interactive session that teaches children their body belongs to them, which touches are safe and which are not, and exactly what to do if something feels wrong.

It is built around a simple rule children remember: say No, Go away, and Tell a grown up they trust. Children take part through a thumbs up, thumbs down quiz and make their own safety hand of five trusted adults.

What children learn

What the children take home

  • My body belongs to me
  • Safe, unsafe and confusing touch
  • The private parts of the body, named simply
  • No, Go, Tell
  • The difference between a surprise and a secret
  • Five trusted adults on my safety hand
  • It is never my fault
  • Who to call: Childline 1098

Think about it

Questions we ask the children

The children answer these together during the session. We find the answers with them on the day.

Grandma gives you a hug you like

Your friend gives you a high five

Someone touches your private parts

Someone says, "Do not tell anyone about our touch"

The doctor checks you while Amma or Appa is there

Who speaks, and the fee

What it costs

Our trained volunteers take every session, and on their own the session is free of charge. For Rs. 1,499 an advocate joins them, based on availability, and for Rs. 2,499 a person who has recovered from the issue joins as well and shares their experience. Because the session depends on our team, its date is subject to the availability of our team, and we confirm it with you by phone.

With Alorah volunteers

Free

With Alorah volunteers and an advocate

Rs. 1,499

With Alorah volunteers, an advocate and a person who has recovered

Rs. 2,499

The fee covers only 50% of the legal charges, the to and fro travel for the advocate and the recovered person, and the guest's accommodation and food. Alorah takes none of it, and bears the other 50% and any cost above it, because our purpose is to create awareness and to protect the safety of children and society.

When we confirm the date by phone, we email you a link to pay online by UPI, card or net banking. Nothing is paid before the date is confirmed.

Collecting this fee is lawful. Alorah Foundation is a registered charitable trust, and a charitable trust may collect a fee below cost for its own charitable work. This is a session fee with a payment receipt, not a donation, so it does not carry an 80G tax benefit.

The law behind this

Supreme Court of India, 19 October 2022, in ACIT (Exemptions) v. Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority: a charge for such work "on cost-basis or nominally above cost" is not trade, commerce or business.

Income-tax Act, 2025, sections 345 and 346: any activity a registered charitable trust carries on for a fee must be incidental to its objects and kept in separate books. Our session fees have their own receipt series and their own books.

Good to know

Before you book

Photographs and videos

Our team takes photographs and videos of every session, for our records and to publish on our website and social media. This is part of every session and is not optional.

If a child speaks up afterwards

Sometimes a student, or somebody else, comes up with something after a session. There is nothing to panic about: our legal team will take care of everything, and we work with the teacher you name.

Where we hold sessions

For now we hold sessions in Coimbatore city only.

What the school arranges

  • A teacher stays in the room for the whole session.
  • A projector and screen, and a microphone or speakers, if you have them. We bring our own laptop.
  • A hall or a classroom that seats the students, with a power point near the projector.
  • A teacher or counsellor a child can go to afterwards.
