College Fees for a First Year Biotechnology Student in Vellore

A first year B.Tech Biotechnology student from Vellore District has asked Alorah Foundation for help with college fees. The student joined a private university in Chengalpattu District this year and lives in its hostel during term.
One parent works a handloom and the other keeps the home. The family of four lives on about ₹5,000 a month, and has already paid ₹70,000 towards this first year: ₹20,000 at admission in May, and ₹50,000 for tuition and the hostel in September. The trust holds both receipts.
Alorah Foundation is raising ₹10,000 towards this year's fees. It is paid directly to the university against its own fee bill. Nothing is handed over in cash, and the receipt comes from the university.
₹10,000 does not pay for the course. It is the part of this year the family asked the trust to carry.
