Continuing IVIG Treatment for a Young Woman in Coimbatore

A 31-year-old woman in Coimbatore District is continuing treatment she has been on for four years. After a road accident she was diagnosed with congenital myopathy, which has weakened the muscles she breathes and swallows with. She lives with a tracheostomy and a feeding tube, and she remains under regular neurological care.

Her doctors have her on maintenance IVIG, intravenous immunoglobulin, and that is what holds her steady. It is a course rather than a one off: the infusions, the hospital visits around them and the medicines in between run to a schedule her doctors set. Her family has carried that schedule for four years.

Alorah Foundation is raising ₹1,50,000 towards the next round of her treatment. It is paid directly to the hospital against its own bill. Nothing is handed over in cash, and the receipt comes from the hospital.
