Health and medical aid: camps, treatment and rehabilitation

Illness turns a poor family into a destitute one in a matter of weeks. Alorah Foundation runs medical camps and mobile units, and helps families meet the cost of treatment they cannot otherwise afford.

What Alorah Foundation does in this cause

  • Medical camps and mobile health units in areas with no clinic within reach.
  • Help with the cost of surgery, hospitalisation, medicines and diagnostic tests.
  • Counselling and mental health support, offered without any of the usual judgement.
  • Rehabilitation after illness, injury or addiction, including the equipment it needs.
  • Support for people with disabilities: aids, appliances and the cost of fitting them.

Who this reaches, and how we follow it

Medical need is the category we are asked about most often and the one where timing matters most, because a hospital does not wait. Applications carrying medical bills are read first. Where a case is larger than the trust can meet alone, we say so plainly rather than leaving a family waiting on a maybe.

Every open need on alorah.org shows what is required, what has come in and what is still short, and funded projects are photographed before, after and for five years afterwards. Where a person’s dignity asks for privacy, the outcome is documented without photographs. See the live needs for what is open today.

If you need help

If you are facing a medical bill you cannot pay, apply for assistance and attach the estimate or the bill. Your documents are held privately and are never published. Assistance is offered without discrimination of caste, creed, religion or gender, and the documents you send are held privately and never published.

If you want to help
